Harness Racing PEI oversees the management of harness racing programs, which includes the live and simulcast racing product, at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Harness Racing PEI seeks to create an aggressive promotional program and extensive live-racing schedule – upwards of eighty (80) dates a year – assuring Island harness racing fans a consistent racing schedule they can depend on.

The Charlottetown Driving Park is one of Canada’s premier harness racing facilities featuring live racing seasonally from May to January, with simulcast racing available daily on a year round basis. The track is a half-mile oval, featuring a safety lane configuration, which is much safer for horses and horsemen. The track also features a “passing lane” or “open stretch” creating exciting finishes to races.
The Gold Cup & Saucer, the region’s greatest race, annually draws the Charlottetown Driving Park’s largest crowd – upwards of 15,000 people for the evening. The race features some the best equine pacers from Canada and United States chasing a purse of $60,000. In national and international harness racing circles, the Gold Cup & Saucer has grown to become one of the world’s most prestigious harness races.
