Thursday Night Racing Returns to Red Shores; Post time is 7pm
Charlottetown, PE – The harness racing schedule continues to heat up on Prince Edward Island with the return of Thursday night racing to Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time for the 12 dash card is 7pm. Racing returns Saturday in Charlottetown at 6pm. Red Shores Summerside launches their 2012 season on Sunday with a 6:30pm post time. The action will be carried world-wide at www.redshores.ca
JK Beauty, with driver Walter Cheverie, has drawn the rail in the $1,800 feature against a power-packed six horse field. Trainer Earl Watts and his owner Wade Pecconi have two entries in the top class. Private Joke, who arrived from the Ontario circuit, leaves from post six for driver Marc Campbell. The five-year-old mare by Western Ideal is also owned by Windmere Farms and John Howatt. Pecconi teams up with co-owner Ryan MacPhee with 2011 Governor’s Plate winner Serious Damage. John Holmes gets the call to drive. Both horses have a shot but they will need to beware of Blue Star Outlaw and Jason Hughes. The Don MacRae owned pacer is coming off a second place finish charted in 1:56.2 with a 28.2 second closer. Trainer Jackie Matheson sends out two entries from his stable with Keystone Dimitri and General Luckypercy. The feature is race 11 scheduled for a 9:35pm AST post time call.
Trotters take the spotlight in race 3 featuring newcomer Whats It All About for driver-trainer Danny MacDonald and owners Bill Andrew of Calgary, Alberta and his brother Brian from Milton. The mare makes her first start after arriving from Lexington, Kentucky. She will leave beside morning line favorite Duvar Road with Norman Myers. The field also includes Shezatramp, PKS Devil, Feel That Muscle, BJ Eldorado, Scarlet Patti and The Iceman Aireth.
