Eagle Luck and IDK Win Island Pacing Championship Eliminations
Charlottetown, PE – Eagle Luck and IDK won their respective eliminations to advance to the $10,000 (added) Island Pacing Series Championship during Saturday night action at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The series is presented by Meridian Farms.
Millionaire Eagle Luck, with Jason Hughes in the bike, sat mid pack before rolling to the outside on route to the half and chasing down leader Arabica (Kenny Arsenault) to win by a length in 1:56.3. Le Fugueur was third with Joseph Michael fourth.
IDK was all business in the second elimination for driver Vince Poulton. Poulton used rail control to bust the gate send the pacer to front to take command of the field. IDK parked LisFinny (Norris Rogers) through an opening panel of 28.1 seconds. The newcomer then had to hold off a hard charging McApulco and Gilles Barrieau for the victory. The time of the mile was 1:57.2. The winning owners are Vince & Gary Poulton and Gail MacDonald. Leading Camdidate was third while All Turain was fourth.
The final will be held during the Atlantic Breeders Crown championship Sunday October 7. Post time is 1pm.
