My Daisy Duke Headlines Blair Andrew Memorial at Red Shores Summerside
Summerside, PE – My Daisy Duke will attempt her third win in a row Wednesday night in the $14,550 Blair Andrew Memorial for two-year-old trotters at Red Shores Summerside. Post time is 7pm for the 13 dash event that will be carried from their world headquarters at www.redshores.ca
The daughter of Northern Bailey-My Dusty Lane has already banked $10,502 in her six lifetime starts for owner Jonathan MacDonald of North Wiltshire. Trainer Ron Gass will drive from post five in the compact field. The Northern Bailey sired Buddy Moko leaves from post 2 while two future stars from Red Flamethrower, Perfect Posture and Dusty Red Lane, also compete. Trot specialist Ralph Annear also sends out Sweetwater Rukkus in the rich event in race 4 on the card.
The event is named in honor of Blair Andrew, an owner, trainer and driver for over four decades in the Maritimes. He was also the leading dash winner at Exhibition Park Raceway in 1955.
Life Savior has been established as the 5-2 morning line favorite in the evening’s top class carried in race 12 which also features the popular Wild Horses promotion. Race analyst Jared Stretch agrees with that assessment. “He’s not only fast he consistent,” said Summerside’s host of Handicapper’s Selections in the race program. “You rarely see this guy bouncing around in class and with the way he’s been lately he should be in control. Expect him to step on the gas early and not let up.”
The dazzling line-up also includes from the rail out Blue Meadow Willie, Hutchinson Hanover, Paphos, newcomer Lexis Maggie, Life Savior, Muzzys Mud Puddle, Porthill Alf and Rich Raider.
