Harness Racing The legendary Charlottetown Driving Park, known as the "Kentucky of Canada", was established in 1888.
In August of 2005, Prince Edward Island entered a new era in harness racing with the opening of a brand new 25 million dollar facility called the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre. In 2009, the facility was renamed to embrace the Island tradition and embody the total, one-of-a-kind experience. The result was the introduction of ‘RED SHORES Racetrack & Casino’ at Charlottetown Driving Park. With these evolutions, the facility continues to proudly showcase the deep history of horse racing on Prince Edward Island and the stars of its sport.
We invite you to experience this history, in addition to the thrill and excitement of live harness racing, as horses and drivers thunder through the stretch. Or, watch the action from major Standardbred and Thoroughbred centres throughout North America from our state of the art simulcast theatres.
See you in the winner’s circle!
